It would seem that there was something more driving Freud’s theories on repression and sexual desire, it is alleged that he signed into a hotel as Sigmund Freud and Frau on a trip with his wife’s sister, that they shared the room and a torrid affair by accounts of CG Jung.
Shown in the photograph are Freud’s wife, Martha Bernays at left, and her sister, Minna, who lived with them and was the “frau” sharing a room with him on the documented trip.

Of further fascination to me, was the fact that even back in 1918, Freud was progressive and well-versed enough to know that homosexuality was not to be confused with a mental illness or disease. This is documented in his comforting handwritten letter to a mother who was concerned for her gay son ( Page 1 | Page 2).
If you buy into graphology, his handwriting says interesting things about him - the way it is scarcely legible, upward slanted and the dots race ahead of the i’s they’re intended to top.
