Billy West | Dallas Comic Con 9

Long overdue, uploaded footage of the amazing Billy West from Dallas Comic Con 9 - July 2007.

For those not as well-versed on cartoons, he is the voice of Ren & Stimpy; Fry, Zoidberg, Professor Farnsworth & Zapp Brannigan on Futurama; along with countless others.

Footage captured by Iceberg of RenegadeRadio.net, using his phone, uploaded by me. :)

Cleaning out the toy room(s). Below is a sampling of the collectibles I’m horking on Ebay. Naturally, I’m keeping the most cherished ones.

Is Everything Derivative?

On Howard Stern today, they had a guy on with concrete examples of songs that Led Zeppelin STOLE from other artists, not even crediting them (until taken to court). Makes me sincerely wish they had a deal with the devil instead. :|

It’s similar to realizing that Lichtenstein merely traced 50’s comics frames to create his paintings, which I’d previously loved.

On one hand, the original art had probably reached its maximum potential with the original artists. These other guys come along, polish it up & re-frame it in their context, make it more palatable - is that art?

In a secondhand way, perhaps, but to lie about it & call it your own, that makes you an asshole. :)

Santa Angelina

Santa AngelinaAngelina Jolie is so lovely. Not just for obvious reasons, but because she lives with such intensity.

Drawn by hand and carved out of 9×12″ black scratchboard.

In the reference photo, she’s speaking to a group of children - totally connecting with them and radiating such joy!

To me, this image is glorious, exalted. I want to redo this in a Baroque style, to do it more justice.

Aqua Teen Hunger Force Movie

Wow, the “critics” are really relishing taking a dump on this film. Can’t you just say, “I don’t get it,” if you truly don’t? Admit ignorance. Not that it’s profound, but the issue is that they’re taking it seriously.

For MSNBC & Rotten Tomatoes to Poop On.

However, Digging the images from the Premiere :D

I plan on seeing it this weekend. For anyone that’s pondering it, GRINDHOUSE kicks ass something fierce! Rose McGowan has seriously redeemed herself as a ferocious ass-kicking chicky, a leading lady - a true femme fatale.

Violent, lurid, pulpy goodness. Again, you can’t take all art so seriously! Time permitting (and I just laaaughed), I would like to do some artwork based on some of the intense imagery of these films.

As you sit through the chicks yapping about girly shit in DEATHPROOF, I assure you, there IS a payoff. It’s worth sitting through to get the backstory and see what ensues. ;)

PLANET TERROR… It takes a lot to make me cringe, since I’ve worked at a pathology lab, but this… *gags* I adore Robert Rodriguez. :)
