Apophenia
Behold, the Drafts of Intrigue (23) & the the Spam from the Bowels of Hell (666) based on their associated numbers, shown in the graphic, if you buy into that sort of thing.
Apophenia: the experience of seeing patterns or connections in random or meaningless data… defined it as the “unmotivated seeing of connections” accompanied by a “specific experience of an abnormal meaningfulness”.
Besides, on the so-called “Number of the Beast,” I’ve recently read that it may have been misinterpreted, or obliterated via numerous translations, and that the true number is 616. Makes those who have been living their lives in fear of that number all the more humorous.
As an odd aside, I have noticed that more often than not, if I’m gonna get three-of-a-kind or better in Poker, it’s frequently a nice cluster of sixes. I don’t have strong feelings on this either way, just an interesting coincidence I’ve noticed. The only significance and meaning to be found in these occurrences are those held by an individual and how they perceive it, what they read into it.
I find great amusement in popular superstition - the perception of devilry and evil of all kinds… The shit they preach vs. what’s demonstrated in their their true nature when they think it’s of no consequence, that no one will tie it back to them as an individual (i.e., in traffic or online).
This offers some insight into my artwork. I tend to believe that humans are baser in nature than “The Devil” & “the sins” they fear. As a result, I tend to sympathize with the supernatural baddies a little more when watching horror movies, I root for the monsters. >;D
