If Looks Could Kill - Graphic Art & Design

Parents are in a snit over a book based on a true story of two gay male penguins from the NYC Central Park Zoo that adopted an egg and raised the chick as their own. Fanatics want it yanked from the shelves, but are willing to acquiesce to having it behind the counter, to be available only upon request and with parental consent.

My advice? Get over it. One book out of thousands on the shelves - what are the odds their kids will even come across it, let alone read it?! 2nd point: Exposure to homosexuality does not make one any more or less gay than originally predispositioned - the end.

Also, this would be a wonderful story for children who do not fully understand their own situation, or that of their classmates, whether they are gay themselves or have gay parents. Disapproving does not make it any less of a reality.

If you personally disapprove of gay sex, please try to refrain from having any. Also, I personally guarantee that you can read this book without turning gay, unless previously inclined.
